Well, it was already planned for a year from now, but Ontario’s Algoma Steel was simply losing too much money trying to prolong the life of obsolete and filthy steelmaking technology based metallurgical coal.
The global glut of cheap Asian steel conspired with the tariff assault of Danielle Smith’s American Idol to slam shut another door to any prospect that Grassy Mountain will ever be more than a lawsuit against Alberta taxpayers.

In England, a knacker is a person who collects dead horses (and possibly other animals) for rendering into glue, tallow and fats. "I'm knackered" means you are so tired you are practically dead. Australian is much more descended from England's English than Canada's is, so I would think that they carry the same meaning in Australia.
