From a former Mayor of Lethbridge, Chris Spearman, a few words on another former Mayor of Lethbridge, David Carpenter. Then, a powerful letter from David Carpenter concerning Premier Smith’s recent trip to Mar-A-Lago. You’ll find the link at the bottom.
“David Carpenter is an exemplary citizen of Lethbridge.
He served 9 years as a councillor before serving 15 years as our best ever mayor, managing the removal of downtown rail shunting yards to Kipp and acquiring valuable land in the “for future'“ city use. He introduced prudent financial policies which stabilized our city’s finances.
After retiring as mayor he served on the Alberta Workers Compensation Board, rescuing the organization from financial crisis to the point where the AWCB was fully funded with the lowest employer premiums in North America.
After leaving the Workers Compensation Board, David joined the board of Alberta Health Services. He greatly assisted the financial stabilization of AHS.
He resigned from the AHS Board when Danielle Smith made it clear that she thought she could do a better job.
David was a lifelong conservative supporter.
Now that I see him leading UCP membership card burning events . . .
I believe I have lived a full life.”

How many times did he vote UCP? We need more than just burning cards.
