From the Chinook Watershed Crew
What a beautiful summer we have had in Alberta! Lots of rain and lots of sunshine!
As we enjoy these last lazy days of summer, I want to inspire you to do something for our mountains this weekend.
The Chinook Water*Shed Crew and Friends have participated in 5 parades over the summer months, walking alongside a float that reminds Albertans of their love for the mountains and the urgency of making our voices heard against coal mining in the Eastern Slopes. Thousands of people saw our parade entry and received leaflets informing them of the issue.
The wrap-up for the parade initiative is in Pincher Creek, this Saturday, August 16, with staging at 10 a.m. and the parade starting at 11:00 a.m. It would be impressive and encouraging to see many of you join the float as walkers, carrying signs and waving to the people lining the streets. It is a celebration of summer, a celebration of our shared love for the mountains, and another opportunity to share the message of "No Coal"!
Please come out.
