Oldman Watershed Council
Living Lakes Canada and Oldman Watershed Council (OWC) are launching a new groundwater monitoring initiative to raise awareness of groundwater, enhance water management, and ensure sustainable water use for future generations. Community feedback will help guide the selection of monitoring sites across the region.
“We can address water challenges by coming together and sharing local knowledge,” said Shannon Frank, Executive Director with OWC. “We invite southern Albertans to help shape a monitoring program that reflects their needs and supports a water-secure future.”
Community members can share their insights at the following sessions:
• In-person in Pincher Creek, AB: March 5, 7–8:30 pm MT
• Online via Zoom: March 13, 12–1:30 pm MT
Attendees will have opportunities to discuss water concerns, monitoring priorities, and ask questions about the Southern Alberta Groundwater Project. Feedback is also being collected through an online survey. “We encourage folks to complete the survey even if they plan on attending a meeting,” said Program Manager Maggie Finkle-Aucoin with Living Lakes Canada.
