Piikani Pow Wow 2026
Many hundreds of members of the Blackfoot Confederacy converged on the annual Piikani Nation Pow Wow August 14-16 for a celebration of cultural heritage.
Open to all, the Piikani annual Pow Wow blends ancestral dress, drumming and dancing with cowboy rodeo and Indian Relay racing. Food trucks offered bannock and poutine, a fusion cuisine unique to Canadian First Nations.
Crowsnest Headwaters partners with members of Piikani Nation and Chinook Water*Shed Crew to reverse the toxic selenium poisoning of the Crowsnest/Headwaters River System caused by years of coal mining and regulatory neglect by both levels of government.
Crowsnest Headwaters is working hard, on the ground, in the laboratory, and through the legal system, to restore the health of the Crowsnest/Oldman river system.
