Piikani prayer ceremony
This will be the 2nd in a series of 5 ceremonies continuing downriver, for protection of our Eastern Slopes. We will continue to post upcoming dates, times, and locations.
Please join us alongside our Piikani brothers and sisters next Saturday, May 9th for our 2nd sharing of a prayer ceremony which will begin at 10:00 AM at Napi’s Playground. The location is spectacular, as is the sacred ceremony provided by the Piikani Elders. Being the day before Mother’s Day it seems quite appropriate that we celebrate and offer prayers for the Eastern Slopes of our Mother Earth.
Below is a Google Earth shot of the location and the route to get there which is quite easy from Hwy 22.
We hope you are able to attend.
Napi’s Playground: For using a maps app - 49º 52’ 07.1” N. / 114º 22’ 42.5” W.
From Hwy 22 head west on the Maycroft Rd. (south side of river) and just keep going (approx. 15 minutes) until you come to the T at the forestry trunk road #40. Turn right (north) and shortly after, turn right again onto the flat. This is just south of the gathering corrals which are very visible between the road and the river.
