There is already runoff from old mines, you can see the iron in the water but you cannot see mercury, lead, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, particulates, and heavy metals like arsenic, chromium, cadmium, and selenium. It is leaching from mines closed decades ago.

According to Colin Cooke, there is only elevated iron.

Benga knew this but decided suing the Alberta tax payers was more lucrative. It has been Gina Rinehart’s go to strategy of getting millions of dollars out of countries for years.

I agree with your thinking. Albertans get to shell out more than it would actually pay them to go into production. Gina must be using a page or two out of Donald J's handbook.
