Alberta pays out another $95 million in hush money to hide promises made to coal speculators
Now it’s keeping the settlement terms secret from the taxpayers who must cough up the cash.
Evolve Power, aka Montem Resources, nabbed $95 million from an Alberta government desperate to keep secret the deals and promises it made to a gang of Australian coal speculators.

It's a pretty simple concept to grasp.
In 2016 the NDP said that you could mine and explore on Category 2 land, then in 2022 the UCP said you couldn't.
You can't give companies the rights to exploration, then take them away and not pay compensation.
It's no different than paying power companies $1.4B to stop burning coal.
