The city of Lethbridge is Alberta’s 3rd biggest city with a population of 111,000.
It has an integrated Agrifood economy worth more than than $14 Billion annually.
Lethbridge produces potable water using water from the Oldman River for use by its residents, businesses and world scale food processors.
It also supplies potable water to12 nearby communities.
The Alberta Government has failed to provide a business case for coal mines that risk contaminating the Oldman River and jeopardizing the Agrifood economy of Southern Alberta.

We know this is coming from UCP’s own place of under handed corruption and I called RJ Sigurdson the Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation to ask about drought and water protection they still don’t know their own policies. His number is agric.minister@gov.ab.ca 780 427 2137. Tell him The Eastern Slopes are more than scenic mountains — they are the source of clean water that millions of Albertans rely on for drinking, agriculture, and industry. Research shows this place to be one of Canada's most crucial areas for freshwater provision, carbon storage, and sustainable recreation opportunities.
Bravo to Lethbridge! Why aren’t other cities and Towns taking a vote? Coal mining will affect every person in this Province
